Marseglia Calce

LEADER IN THE PRODUCTION OF TRADITIONAL LIME GREASE CREAM. OUR PRODUCTION IS STILL MADE IN THE ANCIENT AND ARTISAN METHODS OF A TIME.

OBTAINED BY A LONG WOOD COOKING AT LOW TEMPERATURE AND WITH SEASONING IN THE TANK:

  • AT 3 MONTHS
  • AT 6 MONTHS
  • AT 10 MONTHS

BINDER USED FOR THOUSANDS IN THE SECTOR: MONUMENTAL - HISTORICAL ART - ARCHAEOLOGICAL - HISTORICAL CENTERS AND IN CIVIL BUILDING.

  • COMPATIBLE WITH ANCIENT WALLS AND IN THE SURFACES OF THE HISTORICAL - ARTISTIC DECORATIVE APPARATUS.
  • PERFECTLY REVERSIBLE OVER TIME.
  • USED IN GREEN BUILDING SINCE IT IS A TOTALLY NATURAL ECOLOGICAL BINDER FREE OF IMPURITIES AND INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS

Air lime is the oldest binder, already used by the Phoenix civilization. Its name derives mainly from the ability to set and harden in the air.

OUR TRADITIONAL LIME FAT FAT CREAM IS A BINDER,

lends itself to be used to prepare fluid and workable compounds, once applied it has the property of passing to the solid state (without having to add cements or resins in the mixing phase).

Equipped with a good amalgam viscosity in retaining the mixed sands, it has the strength to bond tenaciously in the joints and on the surfaces of building materials.

Natural and Ecological Binder

It has no polluting effects on the environment, without being negative for health, contributing to living well-being.

Used for interiors and exteriors to make Traditional Historic Mortars, both for reclining and wall leveling, both for plasters and tonachini, both smooth and relief decorations, stuccos, fake marbles, wall paintings, glazes, whitewashing etc ... etc ...

Once applied, it continues to preserve the walls by giving them uniform humidity control.

● Particularly suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, rooms subject to steam and odors that require mortars with good absorbency, breathability and dehumidification.

● In bedrooms it has the ability to absorb carbon dioxide produced by breathing during rest.

● Only the traditional fat lime cream is able to maintain good air quality even in poorly ventilated environments, without forming water retention and consequential mold with harmful soluble salts.

Self-consolidation properties

IN FACTS IT IS THE ONLY BINDER which with its natural property continues to self-consolidate over time, thanks to its chemical composition - and its porous and transpiring structure. Its self-repair takes place due to the presence of CALCIUM HYDROXIDE still present in the mortar with CARBONIC ACID present in atmospheric aerosols. The chemical - physical combination occurs between calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide in the air and water, both in the surface part and by suction in the mass. With this reaction, new calcium carbonate salts are produced, so as to strengthen the structure, creating new bridges between the calcium carbonate and the aggregates, which form the reinforcement of the plaster. Once the water has evaporated, the new crystals are deposited in the cracks and carbonate, saturating the texture of the plaster. Leaving its porous, transpiring, dehumidifying, anti-mold structure unaltered.

Returning the initial compactness to the area and mechanical strength as well as the reduction in the penetration of liquid water.

Marseglia lime putty.

Our ancient seasonings, used for thousands of years in monumental construction, historic art, archaeology and historic centers.

Lime grease cream from Puglia, Italy

LA MARSEGLIA CALCE S.R.L. IT IS LEADER IN THE PRODUCTION OF TRADITIONAL LIME GREASE CREAM.

Obtained from the calcination of our Apulian limestone, with a long gradual wood firing for 14/15 days at a sweet temperature, made in the old vertical vat oven with natural draft. It starts from about 70/120 ° C (limestone drying phase to avoid sudden thermal shocks) gradually increasing the firing safely to reach the final calcination temperature of the limestone which is completed at (840 ° - 860 ° C).

This balanced and controlled cooking temperature of our Apulian carbonate of lime, which varies from 0 ° C up to 840 ° / 860 ° C, makes it stable and pure from the alterations or inclusions of by-products deriving from cooking at high temperatures.

That is, if the limestone is cooked at this mild temperature, it does not undergo any thermal expansion.

While if the thermal expansion phase is triggered (initial firing with high temperatures), once applied, the consequent deterioration of the binder and of the mixed sands would result. This is why LESS calcium carbonate expands (at high industrial firing temperatures from 1,100 ° C to 1,300 ° C) better withstands adverse climates and waters responsible for the deterioration of wall structures and more.

This ancient method of gradual cooking (it is feasible only in the ancient vat ovens with natural draft with indirect flame) it is essential to obtain a homogeneous, porous, friable, reactive calcium oxide, which, immersed in abundant water, reacts by releasing a violent heat bringing the calcium oxide to a boil and its disintegration into liquid pulp, giving shape to a dense milk lime (calcium hydroxide). Finally it is poured into the maturing tanks, where it matures for long months, obtaining an excellent high purity binder with excellent plasticity, workability as well as providing a greater yield in the dough. with a high calcium hydroxide content> 94.7% which certifies it as a fatty calcitic binder.

It is a binder widely used for all construction sectors, whether it is Monumental, Historical Art, Archaeological, Green Building and Civil Construction.

ECOLOGICAL AND NATURAL BINDER

excellent classification of the calcitic product CL / 90S PL, (free from impurities and various additives) CE certifications UNI-EN 459 -1 (GP) (CR) free CaO content of> 94.7% UNI EN 459-2, total content of (CAO + MGO) at 95.1% UNI EN 459 - 2. Free lime water content of 55.7% UNI EN 459 - 2.

TRADITIONAL AIR-GRIP BINDER

composed of calcium hydroxide, its mass is creamy with a fine to extra-fine granular structure, San Giovanni white, with excellent characteristics in density, plasticity, adhesiveness and thixotropicity, remaining compact in its almost greasy softness.

Adhesion and viscosity

IT HAS EXCELLENT VISCOSITY

in retaining the mixed sands, with excellent adhesiveness in the application phase of adhesion to the wall support, and malleability and smoothness in the application of the finishes.

IT HAS BEEN ADOPTED FOR ITS RECOGNIZED ITS NATURAL PROPERTIES

once applied, it guarantees in the long term not to generate water retention, nor efflorescence, nor harmful by-products of soluble salts (e.g. magnesium sulphates) that would give shape to the cottony saltpeter, nor from origins to molds, due to these natural properties applied mortars have excellent resistance over time.

FOR ITS EXCELLENT NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS IN POROSITY - BREATHABILITY - DEHUMIDIFYING - ANTIFREEZE - INSULATING - ANTIBACTERIAL, USED FOR THOUSANDS TO ELIMINATE MOISTURE FROM WALLS,

Due to these recognized properties, the traditional binder once mixed with pyroclastic sands and cocciopesto, the historical mortar system obtained, acts in a completely natural way, allowing the rising damp from the internal and external walls to evaporate easily. by suction by the binder with the subsequent elimination by osmosis from the dehumidifying mortars (binder + aggregates)

Thus, that the traditional cream of lime grease gives the walls uniform control of rising damp even in the presence of veils of water.

HAS A MU µ 5.8 (HIGH BREATHABILITY)

Where the traditional lime putty cream is used, it continues to preserve both the walls and its finishes over time.

NATURAL AERIAL MORTARS

The mortars based on air lime (binder + sands), setting and hardening take place in ventilated environments due to the presence of carbon dioxide and water that binds to calcium hydroxide. In fact, they are known because they set and harden in the air, without having to add various cements or resins for their hardening.

They have been used for millennia to make Historical mortars in Monumental Building, in decorated surfaces - Archaeological, Civil and currently in Green Building for interiors and exteriors.

Traditional air mortar has plasticity and workability, promotes excellent bonding and inert material, flexibility and resistance under stress, returns an excellent yield in the mixes, has porosity and breathability that allow the internal humidity of the walls to evaporate easily (dehumidification), excellent resistance to frost and high temperatures and degradation, with excellent thermal insulation.

THE TRADITIONAL LIME GREASE CREAM IT HAS BEEN USED FOR THOUSANDS TO PACKAGE HYDRAULIC MORTARS

HYDRAULIC LIME

The aerial mortars can be made hydraulic, by adding at the time of mixing the mortars (binder + siliceous aggregates) fine aggregates of pozzolan and / or cocciopesto, they are reactive materials with a high content of silica oxide and alumina hydraulically active with the calcium hydroxide, forming stable and insoluble hydraulic salts.

This simple addition gives the aerial mortars excellent hydraulic properties, with the same characteristics and mechanical strength as hydraulic limes or cements.

At the same time they retain all those excellent properties of aerial mortars.

Already used by the Phoenician Civilization and to continue by the Romans, until the early 1900s, for use in humid or submerged environments.

Used for bedding mortars for reclining and wall leveling, plasters and tonachini, both smooth and relief aesthetic finishes, for faux marble, dull, glazing and wall paintings for interiors and exteriors.

With this simple mixture it is composed on site

THE ANCIENT ROMAN CEMENTUM, IT IS A HYDRAULIC BINDER, Natural and Ecological, without impurities or industrial additives, used for millennia.

HYDRAULIC AERIAL MORTARS

they have excellent mechanical strength, while retaining the plasticity, workability and elasticity typical of aerial limes.

THE HYDRAULIC REACTION

it further favors the unions between bond and aggregates, forming stable and insoluble (hydraulic) compounds, keeping the mortar unaltered in its porosity, breathability and anti-freeze typical of air lime over a long time.

THESE PROPERTIES ALLOW THE MOISTURE TO RISE

in the masonry to be absorbed by suction and evaporated easily by the mortars by osmosis.

They retain the properties of breathability, flexibility and resistance under stress typical of aerial mortars, with little tendency to form efflorescence, nor to give the form of soluble sulphatic salts, nor to the formation of mold and bacteria, with excellent waterproofing.

HYDRAULIC AERIAL MORTARS

they are suitable for the Restoration and Recovery of Monumental, Historic Artistic, Archaeological, Civil, Green Building Buildings, since they are "softer, more elastic and ecological" than cements and other industrial hydraulic binders.

HISTORICAL MORTARS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN USED IN CONSTRUCTIONS

ARE ADJACENT TO THE SEA
